As I was participating with the online streaming of my church’s worship, l began thinking of what good can come of our self-isolation beyond the obvious of protecting ourselves from getting COVID-19.
My mind goes back to a time of personal tragedy. When my young nephew died, we were all devastated. I tried really hard to think of something good that could result from this. My best conclusion was a reminder of how important family is. We thought he would always be there. Not so! He was gone in an instant. Now I think that all our family cherishes one another because we know life can be short-too short for conflicts.
Now we have this coronavirus keeping us socially isolated, so we can contain this virus and keep it from contaminating our friends, loved ones, family members, and even strangers.
What else can come from this? Maybe it’s a time for individuals, families, churches, businesses, and even governments to take this slow down in society as a time to reflect and determine what is really important and how to make improvements in all aspects of their affairs.
From the bad, hopefully, each of us will find inspiration to be better.
My prayer is that each of you stay safe and stay strong.
Very good blog. Thanks for your thoughts and being there for our family.
